Music is a life regulator:
who uses it to calm down, who to improve attention, who to recharge.
Music influences both body and mind.
It is used to stabilise our heart beat (blood pressure, breath and the release of hormones), it helps memory and learning, encourages concentration and productivity. It’s used to manage pain and emotions. Think at the use of soundtracks.
We are unable to remain indifferent to what it happens around us. Situations always influence us somehow. To agitation corresponds restlessness, to well-being relaxation, and this is because humans are for nature empathic animals, that means they resound with what is around them.
Our body is like an harmonic case: it resounds mood changes or, even, causing bad-beings and well-beings.
We are as musical instruments that react to external impulses: we are played.
Every part is in bio-resonance with the others and with the rest of the world. The Simpathetic neural system holds our rhythm in balance with the world’s. This system is like a keyboard: every note corresponds to a neuraligic spot in which converge informations from our body.
This keyboard unroll along the spine and every note equals to a collision of informations from which our wellness is determined.
The well-being of one coincides to the well working of the others, as the bad state with weakness, retards and illness in general.
This disposition overlaps with chakras, on which is well-known the effects of mantras.
The Om, used in meditation, is used to make resound the Solar plexus, that is the middle of our chest. This helps regulate the heart beat and stimulates the thymus (from which depends the production of different hormones). For the same reason different vocals and sounds help different parts of the body:
- A – we use it for the breathing system, it sound directs to our chest. It involves our lungs.
- E – we use it for our phonetic and vocal system, it sound directs to our throat. It involves our larynx, our thyroid and parathyroid.
- I – we use it for our neural and immune system, it sound directs to our head, particularly to the root of our nose. It involves our brain, the pituitary and the epiphisis gland.
- O – we use it for our circulatory system, it sound directs to the center of our chest. The interested parts are our heart and thymus.
- U – we use it for our digestive system, it sound is directed to our navel. It works on our liver, our stomach, our pancreas and intestines; on our sexual system.
For other parts are used compound sounds.
Also our consciousness and waking states resound with the world. It’s a fact of relation between our inner timing and the alternate of the day with the night. Our presence depends on the balance of this two cycles: when we are in tuning.
Neuro – imaging allowed us
to notice, through the relation between temperatures and frequencies, how specific neural relation correspond to specific colours.
Brain waves measurement allowed us to distinguish 4 main state of consciousness corresponding to different blood pressures.
- Alpha waves – (8 to 13.9 hz) alert and relaxed state of mind, concentrated on problem solving and introspective moments.
- Beta waves – (14 to 30 hz) wake up activities and concentrated on external impulses.
- Delta waves – (0,1 to 3,9 hz) deep sleeping and psycho – phisical relaxation.
- Theta waves – (4 to 7,9 hz) first two moments of REM sleep, imagination and creative display, deep meditation.
This frequencies correspond to different body temperatures. With attention shifts between inner and outer stimuli, it changes the speed of our blood and, so, the disposition to listening.
Listening is an attitude that can be controlled. Our health depends on a measured equilibrium of attention between this two universes. This is possible throughout breathing.
Breath changes also in relation to the music we listen. For this reason we use it to concentrate on ourselves, to rebalance and for self-healing processes. Her autogenic training depends on the relation between the key element of music (rhythm, melody, harmony, stamp, intonation) with our soul disposition (let’s remember that the first step of any cure depends on our choice to get better).
Music works on the thin body.
This is an energetic intermediate level between our body and mind, matter and consciousness. It’s like an energy plasma in which the most dense spots overlap to the endocrine glands.
Endocrine glands are the one who are concerned in the release of hormones, that are needed for the internal communication of our body.
Their emission causes every time variations in the intensity of energy, efforts, that influence the rotation of our energy centres, the chakras.
Literally, in Sanskrit, the word chakra means wheel, vortex. We can immagine them as vortexes that tend to unfold outwards.
Their speed is determined from the level of hormones and sound/music coming from outside.
For this reason we say that music actually acts on our body and our consciousness and, for this reason, we say music therapy works on us.
Apart from passive music therapy, exists an active music therapy, and that’s exactly what the Intuitive Piano works with.
This educational method to music, to musical thinking, let us learn how to play our favorite songs and, in this way understand why we prefer specific songs rather than others.
Because there’s a relation between melody, tonality, rhythm, passions, chakras and thoughts …
